Review: LELO Ora

Recently Lelo released one of their new products, the Ora.  They have been creating a lot of new versions of their original products lately, but I was excited, yet nervous, to try out the Ora.  I had experienced the Sasi that came out before I started reviewing, and wasn’t impressed.  I had also tried the Squeel and didn’t enjoy it either, so I was hoping the Ora would offer me a little more.

The Run Down:

  • Toy Type:  Out-ie; Oral sex simulator
  • Manufacturer:  Lelo
  • Includes:  Toy, charging cable, and storage bag
  • Materials:  Silicone and ABS Plastic
  • Size:  3″ diameter, 1.75″ wide to 1″ wide
  • Price:  $169
  • Pros:  Two modes of vibration; Multiple patterns;  Smooth silicone; Waterproof; Deeper vibration; Noticeable (but subtle) stimulation from the rotating ball
  • Cons:  On the loud side; A seam to pay attention to when cleaning;  could be bigger; Ball only has one speed; Can get very slippery with lube
  • Intensity: 4/5

Follow Up Friday: My Fixation Couples Vibe & Panty

Over a year ago I reviewed a wearable vibe called the Fixation Couples Vibe.  It was an interesting toy but it didn’t quite work well for me and was a little too buzzy for my liking (check out my full review for more).  Since then, I hadn’t thought much about the toy and I recently pulled it out to pass on to a new home.  I decided I would mark sure it would still hold a charge only to be disappointed that it would not charge at all and was completely dead.  I contacted the company and was informed that the battery only has a shelf life of 1 year and that if it is not charged it will die and the warranty was expired so it would not be replaced.  I have never heard of a battery having a shelf life and it makes me want to go and check all of my toys that I don’t use often.  I also had no desire to pull it out and try it since the review, so that does show my actual interest and enjoyment of the toy.  However, it’s kinda of sad, the thought that the toy was not loved enough that it just died.

The New Run Down:

  • Toy Type:  Out-ie
  • Material – Vibe:  ABS Plastic
  • Materials – Panty:  80% Polyester, 20% Nylo
  • Size – Vibe: 2″ wide; 2.5″ long; 0.75″ at the thickest
  • Size – Panty: S (2/4), M (6/8), L (10/12), XL (14/16), XXL (18/20)

  • Price:  $79.00
  • Original Pros:  Rechargeable; Water-proof/splash-proof;  Stays in place;  Panty is comfortable
  • New Pros:  Rechargeable; Water-proof/splash-proof; Panty is comfortable; Price has dropped
  • Originals Cons:  Doesn’t work well with larger labia; A bit buzzy; May not be strong enough for some
  • New Cons:  Doesn’t work well with larger bodies; A bit buzzy; Battery has a “shelf life”
  • Original Rating:  3.5/5
  • New Rating:  1/5
  • Recommended:  Maybe

If you are still interested, the version being sold is the generation two which is stated as being stronger and charges through USB.  It also has more modes that you can use.  You can still purchase the vibe as well as the panty and lingerie sets over at My Fixation.  If you still need help, don’t forget to check out my original review.

Review: Sutera Elite – Blossom, Baily, & Blee

Today I’m reviewing a newer line of “Luxury” toys from Lovers Package, the Sutera Elite line that includes Blossom, Bailey, and Blee.  I am not sure why they all have “b” names, it kinda weirds me out and I’m not sure why.

The Run Down:

  • Toy Type:  In-ie and/or out-ie
  • Manufacturer:  Sutera Toys
  • Materials:  Silicone and ABS Plastic
  • Size:  Blossom – 4.5″ in length, 1.25″ at the widest; Bailey – 7″ in length, 1.25″ at the widest; Blee – 6.5″ in length, 1-1.5″ in width
  • Price – Blossom:  $69.95
  • Price – Blee & Baily:  $79.95
  • Pros:  Soft material; Blossom has a nice shape
  • Cons:  Too expensive; Vibrations are not impressive; Likely not silicone
  • Intensity: 3/5
  • Volume: Blossom & Blee – 3/5; Bailey – 4/5
  • Overall Rating: 1.5/5
  • Recommended: No, the cost is not justified
sutera elite vibrators

The packages

The packaging for all three of these toys is pretty much identical.  Each toy comes in its own very sturdy cardboard box with a clear plastic window in the front.  The front of the package says the toy name and a few of the features of the toy, which are slightly different for each toy.  The ends of the box has the cute little Sutera logo and the back lists the toy name and a short little description and personification of each toy.  The back also has the company information.    Other than the text, the only real difference in the packaging is the color of the design that wraps around the box and the logo and some of the text, which corresponds to the color of the toy.

sutera elite blossom vibrator

Blossom

I choose to review all three toys in one post because they are very similar with only some differences in size and shape.  All three are made from ABS plastic and what is labeled as silicone.  It is a very smooth and soft feeling material and has very little drag to it.  It also doesn’t collect lint or hair at all.  Each also seems to have a foam like material inside, except where the motor is, as they are quite squishy and flexible, though since Blossom is the smallest, it is not as squishy because the motor and control pad takes up most of the toy.  I do quite like the feel of the material, but they do have a bit of a rubbery scent to them, but only if it’s close to your face. I also tried flame testing them and the material was left a little discolored, but it did not catch on fire.  I also found that after using one of them internally once, that I had the same itchy sensation I get from latex exposure.  The lube is one that I have used frequently with no issue, but I also have not been able to re-create the feeling, so I am not sure.  Most likely they are a silicone blend, so I would recommend sticking with a water-based lube just to be safe.  For cleaning, you can use soap and water or toy cleaner, but I would not recommend submerging the toys, because they do not have an o-ring.  They are also decently easy to clean, though there is a seam between the plastic and the silicone that may require special attention or the use of an old tooth brush.  The Bailey also has some extra ripples on the back that you will have to pay a bit more attention too as well.

sutera elite bailey vibrator

Bailey

The shape and size is where each of the toys differ.  The Blossom is the smallest around 4.5″ in length and  1.25″ at it’s widest.  It narrows to a bit of a point and has a bump that dips down to the nose of the toy and on the back it is fairly flat and broad with a dip in it.  I found this toy better suited for clitroal stimulation, as it doesn’t have much length for inserting.  You can use the smaller point on the front or the broader back.  I did find that the dip in the back is a good resting place for your finger which kind of allows it to act as a vibrating finger extension.

The Bailey is what I would consider the g-spot toy of the line.  It comes in about 7″ in length and 1.25″ in diameter.  The front of the toy is a broad flat surface until it rounds out and curves up to a slight point.  The back has a broad head that comes to the point at the tip of the toy, with small ridge lines on the back.  I could not feel these when inserted  but looking at it kind of makes it look like the back of a cobra’s head.  For me, the Bailey just doesn’t work for g-spot stimulation.  The point is only slightly curved and much too small.  You could also use it for external clitoral stimulation with a slightly longer reach than the Blossom.

sutera elite blee vibrator

Blee

The last of the line is Blee.  Blee is the traditional style vibrator of the bunch and comes in at 6.5″ long and tapers from 1.25″ to just under 1″.  It’s a straight style vibrator and it has a small amount of texture, but it is only for looks as I could not feel it at all.  There is nothing particularly exciting or interesting about the shape, but it would be well suited for someone that is looking for a slimmer toy.

Each toy runs on two AAA batteries and has the same control panel   There are two buttons, one that turns the toy on and the other that simply cycles through the settings.  The batteries are inserted into a slide off panel and there is no o-ring of any type, so I would not recommend submerging these toys, but I think it would be safe to say they are splash proof.  All three toys have the same vibration settings and, even though they are slightly varied in size, they all have the same vibration intensity.  On high, it’s still a medium level vibration at best, and more on the buzzy side which is about what I would expect for two AAA’s.  The vibrations in all three toys are also focused in the end, which is where it feels like the motor is located.  There are three levels of steady vibration and four patterns.  The vibrations are not overly impressive.  The toys are decently quite, they probably would not be heard through your average door, however the Bailey has a louder rattle to it.  I didn’t hear it so much when inserted it, but outside it is a deal louder than the other too, but it seems more like a defect than it’s desire.  There seems to be something loose and when you squeeze in the right spot it stops making the extra noise.  It also stops when it’s held upside down, which is kinda strange.

Overall, I am not fond of any of the Sutera Elite line.  The Blossom is probably my favorite, based on the shape, but the vibrations leave a little bit to be desired.  My biggest issue is the cost.  Blossom is the cheapest at $70 while the other two are $80.  For something with un-impressive vibration and runs on two AAA’s, that is waaaay to much.  They are marketed as luxury toys, but I do not think that they are silicone, or at least not completely silicone.  Given that, I would have to say pass on all three of these toys.

The butterfly and controller

The butterfly and controller

There is little to say about the packaging.  It comes in the white cardboard box that has an image of the product on the front.  The side has an image of the toy with bubbles pointing to the various features and the back lists the features in five different languages.

There are three main parts to the Butterfly Bliss, the straps, the controller, and the butterfly.  The butterfly is the main part of the toy that vibrators.  It is approximately 3.5″ in length and 3″ in width.  It has wings and little antenna and has nubs along the inside of the body that will be in contact with the vulva.  The material is silicone, but unlike some of the CalExotics silicone lately, it is a bit of a lint/fur magnet.  It is also a pain to clean, especially if you use some water-based lube.  The inside has the nubs that will need to be scrubbed and the back has many groves as part of the design.   Not only that, but the straps attach to the butterfly and they cannot be removed.  There are three sets of straps, two to go around each thigh and one around the waist.  The thigh straps are approximately 20″ in maximum circumference and the waist strap is about 42″ in maximum circumference.  The straps are a bit stretchy, so you can stretch them a bit, but unfortunately the thigh straps are too small for my thighs.  I had hoped I would be able to remove the straps and reattach them in different configurations  but they have notches that prevent you from pulling the straps out of the plastic adjusters.  I could get the waist strap to fit, but the thighs were much too tight.  I attempted to hook the thigh straps between the legs to the plastic adjusters in the back, but it did not stay properly.

butterfly bliss

The nubs on the inside (PITA)

The last part is the controller.  It is on a cord that is about 25.5″ long and the controller itself is 3″ and 1.75″.  There are two buttons, one that turns it on and the other that changes the speed and the patterns.  The back of the controller opens up to insert the two AAA’s.  There is an O-ring, but I would not risk completely submerging the toy, especially because it has the cord that does not seem that sealed.    There are 7 functions with 3 steady speeds and 4 pulsing and escalating patterns.  It’s a medium strong vibration, but they are extremely buzzy.  So much so that it was uncomfortable and very ticklish for me.

Overall, the Love Rider Butterfly Bliss just did not work for me.  The thigh straps were too tight and the vibrations were way too buzzy.  The first time I turned it on, I squealed and jumped and turned it right back off because of how buzzy it is.  If you have larger thighs or waist, you will not be able to comfortably use it as a strap-on vibrator.  In addition, it is also a lint magnet and a pain to clean because of the nubs, groves, and straps.  It’s also a tad on the expensive side.  however, if you are looking for a silicone strap-on vibrator and do not mind that it is buzzy, it would not be a bad addition.  I have seen no other strap-on vibrators like this that are silicone.

Follow Up Friday: Leaf Life

The Life

I reviewed the Leaf Life near the start of this year.  The Leaf line had just came out and there was a lot of buzz (haha, get it?!) about it.  I had reviewed the Spirit as well, which I liked it, but the Life rocked  my socks off and I have to stay it still does.  The shape and vibrations make it my favorite and my go-to clit vibe.  I can honestly say I use this more than any of my other favorites.  When compared to the Je Joue Mimi it’s not quite as strong or as deep of a vibratio, but it works well for me.  It’s just right.  Plus it’s very easy to use and adjust the speed.  I’m still not a huge fan of the single button/push to hold style, but I’ve gotten much more used to it.   I almost never have to charge it either, I’ll give it a charge every few weeks and it’s good.  I’ve only had it die once or twice because it had been so long since I last charged it.

I also loved the package and I actually still use it.  I don’t store this toy in, but it makes a nice little place to keep some of my smaller toys when I store them so they don’t get lost in the bottom of a drawer.  It’s very sturdy.  I don’t really ever use the storage bag for this toy either, it has some other purpose now I’m sure though.

The New Run Down:

  • Toy Type:  Out-ie
  • Material:  Silicone
  • Size:  4? long; 1.5? wide
  • Price:  $130
  • Original Pros:  Awesome package; Storage bag; Nice silicone;  Good Vibration; Great shape; Good charge life
  • New Pros:  Package is great for other storage; Great shape; Good vibrations;
  • Originals Cons:  Annoying controls
  • New Cons:  Controls are slightly annoying
  • Original Rating:  5/5
  • New Rating:  5/5
  • Recommended:  Yes

I really love this toy and right now if you head over to Eden Fantasys you can get the Leaf Life for 25% off (or 30% if you add $20 bucks to your order), but only until the 31st.  If you’re not sure check out my original review for more details.
