Introducing Lelo Luna Smart Bead

I think the thing that makes me the most excited as a reviewer is when I get to help launch a brand new product.  Lelo emailed me a few weeks ago asking if I would be interested in promoting  and reviewing their new kegel training product, the Lelo Luna Smart Bead.  There have been several kegel personal training products that have come out recently.

To start off with, why do we care about kegels?  I have only reviewed a few kegel trainers, but they are all manual or considered “duo tone” kegel toys.  But kegels can help increase your ability to climax as well as the strength of orgasm.  Kegels also help with bladder control and overall vaginal health.  The focus of the Lelo Luna Smart Bead is to increase orgasmic potential.  Lelo created a Global survey that showed a few facts about female orgasm:

  • 76% of women claim their orgasm wave lasts less than six seconds
  • 11% of women have never experienced what they would describe as a climax
  • Only 4% of women are ‘Fully satisfied’ with the strength of their orgasms
  • Only 17% of women regularly experience multiple orgasms
  • 33% of women believe they have never experienced a multiple orgasm

Unlike many studies, this was a 2014 survey which has been gathering date for 5 years and had nearly 50,000 global participants.  With these facts in mind, Lelo designed the Smart Bead.

So what exactly is the Lelo Luna Smart Bead?  It’s a personal pleasure training device that aims to help women achieve better orgasms through kegel exercise.  The device is shaped much like the Lelo Lyla, but one surface features touch-senors that set a progressive training routine to aid women in their kegels.  Once inserted, the touch-sensor responds to every squeeze in order to tailor a routine that works for you.  There are 5 vibration-guided levels which are automatically updated to match the strength of your pelvic floor muscles.

The Smart Bead itself is fairly simple.  You turn it on, insert it, much like a tampon, and follow the program.  When the bead vibrations, you squeeze with your kegels and when it stops vibrating you stop.  Three vibrations signal the end of the program and the bead turns off on it’s own.  Each training routine lasts about 5 minutes, so it doesn’t even take a significant amount of time out of your day.  After you have completed a routine, you can activate a continuous vibration mode to test out your orgasm after your exercise.

Be sure to follow Lelo on Twitter and Facebook for more announcements.  You can also check out these hashtags for more tips, and information from other bloggers:  #trainfororgasm #lelo #lelolunasmartbead #orgasmtrainer #lelotips  Also don’t forget to check out the Lelo Luna Smart Bead, starting at $109 and stay tuned for my upcoming review! Dating Fail #81

I’ve got a quick one for you today.  Here are a few oddball messages I got lately on OkCupid.

This first isn’t bad, but the message is a little odd.

“Hi, how are you doing? I am Jones so sorry for jumping into your privacy, your profile caught my eyes, I would love to know more about you I hope to hear from you soon”

Jumping into my privacy?  I don’t really even know what that means in this context.  I have a public profile on a free site, there is no privacy.  I just… thought it was odd.  He shortly after deactivated his account.

The next is just a poor grasp of the English language and made me giggle a bit.

“I absolutely love your profile. You seem adventures and spunky. I like that :)”

I am adventures!  Also no one has ever called me spunky before.

Adventurous Couple’s Guide to Sex Toys Blog Tour

The cover

So my first big post back in the game is for a blog tour! I’ve never done a blog tour before, but it seems kind of neat.  This blog tour is for the new book, The Adventurous Couple’s Guide to Sex Toys by Violet Blue and Charlie Glickman.  Unfortunately due to moving and the like, I do not yet have my hard copy of the book, but I have been able to skim through a digital copy I was sent.

I was a little hesitant about the book, being as I have so many toys and I don’t feel like there is a ton left for me to learn.  In scanning through the chapters, two chapters stood out to me and I skipped straight to them:  Teledildonic Toys:  Online Sex for Two and Sex Machines.  I really enjoyed the discussion on Teledildonics and it’s given me some new things to look into and this seems like an important topic for couples, especially in long distance relationships.  I did notice that the OhMiBod toy that works with skype was not mentioned in my quick read through.  I do also like that this goes into just using a webcam and that area.

The sex machine chapter was very informative.  I’ve never used one and have only seen the attachments that you use to convert a handheld saw into a fucksaw and a Synbian.  This is probably where I learned the most and want to really dig into the chapter more.

I was really glad to see that this book includes more than just toys, including how to take care of your toys “Care and Feeding) and how to talk about using toys as a couple and just how to use them as a couple.  There is even a section on kinkier toys, such as handcuffs and “more ouchy fun”.  And don’t worry guys, there are some toys for you and a whole section on strap-ons.

Throughout the book there are grey scale sketch images that show what some of the toys and machines actually look like.  However, it is not an image heavy book.  The focus with the book is by far the information, not what the toys look like, etc.  I think it could be helpful two versions of this book (or a series) where one is for beginners with actual pictures and another is for more advanced.  This could also work well with a DVD showing couples using the toys as in each chapter.  But perhaps I am just more of a visual creature than most.

Position of the Week #16: The Humpback Whale

This week’s position is another position from the Try Me Condom Gift Set.  This one I saved because of the ridiculous name:  The Humpback Whale

the humpback whale

The Humpback Whale

The Humpback Whale seems to be much like doggy style with the addition of press against your partner and cupping their breasts.  This could be difficult if partners heights are too different, so you may need to alter it and play around with it until you get it just right.  Generally my partners have been able to get this close, due to large bellies and a large bottom on my part.  Maybe one day I will find a partner that this will work with.
