Review: Encounter Amazing Lube

Today I have a review from a company I just started working with, The Intimacy Book.  They carry lots of novelties and products to increase sensation, pleasure, and intimacy.    They carry very few toys, but many products such as massage oil, lube, and lingerie.  They were kind enough to send me the Encounter Amazing Lube to try.

The lube bottle

The Encounter lube comes in a small 2 oz bottle.  It comes completely sealed in t plastic label.  The top portion is removed to get to the clear plastic cap.  The rest of the label is the same pink and says “Clitoral/G-Spot Formula Encounter Amazing Female Lubricant”.  It’s not the most discreet, but it is a small bottle so you could tuck it into your beside drawer.  You can also easily peel the rest of the label off.  There are a few symbols on the side that list it as being naturally pH balanced, water based, intensified pleasure, and certified vegan.  The bottle has a pump top that’s easy to use.  It doesn’t dispense a lot at once, but I don’t find it to be a problem, since you don’t need to use much at once.

The lube itself is somewhere between a liquid and a gel.  In small amounts it will stay where it put it, but as you add more it will drip a little bit.  The consistency is much like other water-based lubes and it spreads fairly easily.  As just a lube, it doesn’t last as long as others, but I feel that it’s intended to be used as more of a stimulating gel, something to apply before you add more lube.  The instructions say to apply under the hood of the clit or to the g-spot and to re-apply as needed.  Plus you only get 2oz, so using this as a full on lube would mean you’d run out very quickly.  There is a very slight menthol smell to it, but only if you put it right up to your nose.  I didn’t taste it because I don’t think it would taste very good.  I would suggest not using this if you plan on doing any sort of oral.

The sensation the Encounter Amazing Lube provides did not amaze me.  It does have Arginine and Menthol which will increase blood flow to the area and cause a tingling feeling.  For me however, the stimulation feeling of this was much milder compared to other products like this.  When I use this on my clit, as soon as I start touching the area or using a toy, the sensation seems to quickly go away.  If I use it internally, I don’t feel anything at all.  It could increase blood flow and aid in arousal, but I do not feel any tingling.  I also don’t find that it really increases my sensation at all.  It gives a small boost right at the start, but then I’m on my own after that.  I’ve only been able to feel any sort of tingling for about 3-6 minutes, which is very disappointing to me.  I really enjoy a tingling feeling but this just doesn’t offer as strong or long lasting of a sensation as I like.  As for the other ingredients, it’s glycerin and paraben free, contains vitamin E, and is latex friendly.  However, it is not completely chemical free, so it is not an all natural product.  The only thing I would recommend is if you have genital herpes is to not use this product or talk to your doctor before hand as there have been links to Arginine and a herpes outbreak.

Overal, the Encounter Amazing Lube is okay.  It does give a light sensation, but for me it wasn’t as strong or long-lasting as I like.  It is fairly inexpensive though, at under $6 for the bottle, so if you like a light stimulation, this would work well for you.  It’s also vegan, if that is an important factor for you.  The Intimacy Book does carry the other types of Encounter Lubes including Pure, Ultimate, Silk, Lasting, and flavors (Cherry, Peach, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Watermelon).
