The packaging

The packaging for the Liberte is quite nice, but not that discreet.  The box is very thick and has a lift off top.  The top and sides of the box have a picture of the item and say “Extase Pleasure Awaits” and “Sensual Massager”.  The two long sides list the features of the toy while the short sides just have the Extase logo and motto on it.  When you lift off the top, the Liberte is sitting in a bed of foam on the top panel   Below that, there is a little pull out drawer that contains the instruction manual, charger, and storage bag that are sitting in the same type of foam.  The pull out part also has a little lid.  Since the box is not all that discreet, you may not want to keep it around .  But if you do, the foam can be pulled out and you can use it for storage.  The drawer would probably be the best storage option, since the foam is easier to get out and it has no writing on it.  I probably won’t end up keeping this box.

The Liberte and storage bag

The toy itself is a fairly simple and sleek design.  It’s made out of very slick ABS Plastic and kind of looks like a finger.  It measures about 3.75″ in total length and the finger portion is about 2″ in length and 0.75″ wide.  The end with the buttons is just over 1″ wide.  The end of the toy has a small plastic jewel with the Extase logo on it that lights up while the toy is turned on, which is kind of a stylish feature.  Since it is plastic, you can use any type of lube with it, but a little bit goes a very long way.  I love how slick it can get compared to my silicone clit toys.  It’s also such a small size, it really is just like a single finger resting against your clit.  It would also be great to use during partner sex because it’s small and won’t get in the way.

The Liberte is fully rechargeable and the charger is like most cell phone chargers these days.  It has a wall outlet, but you can also plug it in and charge it through a USB port if you disconnect the cord from the AC box.  The charging port on the toy is covered and it’s actually a little difficult to get open.  It helps a lot if you have nails to help you pry it out.  As far as the vibrations go, I was a little disappointed.  They are quite buzzy, but decently strong.  Even though it is buzzier than I normally like, I still enjoy it, mostly because of the shape and slickness.  There are three settings of solid vibrations and four patterns that are mostly pulsing with a bit of escalating.  The controls are fairly simple too.  There are two buttons, kind of a toggle style switch, and pushing and holding either of them will turn the toy on or off.  The small side of the toggle goes backwards through the patterns and speeds while the bigger one goes forward through them.  You can also lock the toy by holding both buttons down for a few seconds.  Holding both buttons down causes the ring around the buttons to light up and once it has locked, the light dims.  The same thing happens in reverse to unlock it.

Overall, I’m not as impressed with the Extase Liberte as I hoped to be, however, I still enjoy it quite a bit.  It’s buzzier than the vibes I normally pull out, but the slick plastic and finger-like shape make up for it a bit.  I don’t see it replacing my Leaf Life anytime soon and it is a tad expensive, but it’s definitely a nice addition to my collection.  If you want to check out the Extase Liberte and other Luxury Sex toys, head over to TabuToys.com.
