Trojan Fire & Ice box

I’m sure you have seen at least one of Trojan’s commercials.  They’re quite silly if you ask me and way over exaggerate their products, but nonetheless, I’m always suckered in to being interested in the product.  Their latest product is the Fire & Ice condom.  They are lubricated on both sides of the condom and the lube is supposed to give “warming and tingling sensations for both partners.”

The lubricant on these condoms is supposed to cause a warming and tingling sensation for both partners.  I have used several products that do cause a tingling sensation and enjoy it.  However I have not really enjoyed warming sensations.  With this product though, I didn’t really feel much of anything.  The first time I felt a little added tingling and cooling, but I never felt any warming.  The second time me and my partner tried them, I noticed there was a bit of extra lube still in the condom wrapper, so I squeezed it out to give some extra lube to my side, but still just didn’t feel much.

Fire & Ice Individual Wrappers

That’s just my impression.  I asked my partner what it felt like to him and he said it started off as a tingling feeling and progressed to a sort of tingling warming sensation.  The way he put it was “it felt like I had rubbed icy-hot on my dick before sex”.  A very mild icy-hot mind you (I do NOT recommend using icy-hot or any other similar products on your downstairs!).  He said the feeling during sex was much the same, though the first time it did seem to dull him a bit and helped him last longer.  The second time he said it just didn’t make much of a difference at all.

Another thing about the lube, is that the ingredients of the lube are not listed anywhere.  I did not think to check the inside of the box for the list of ingredients, it may have been there and I missed it, but I have no clue as to how body safe the lube is.  It may have glycerin or parabens in it that could cause allergic reactions or yeast infections in some women.

The packaging was pretty though, but I am partial to purples and blues.  The individual wrappers are a bright metallic purple and blue.  The only down side to these is they are not very discreet if you had them laying on a table or in a drawer.  The wrappers are also standard size and square.  Some Trojan condoms I’ve had, such as the Esctacy condoms, the wrapper is HUGE, so these are normal sized.

Fire & Ice Condom Shape

The condom itself is a standard shape, no ribs or studs.  It does have a flared head as well as a reservoir tip.  But over all it’s a pretty basic design.  The shape of the condom itself was fine, though if you love ribs or studs, this could be a little boring.

There was major down side, for me at least, of the Fire & Ice condoms.  I’ve actually noticed this with most all Trojan brand condoms, but these in particular had a very pungent latex smell.  So much so that it also lingered in the room and on any body parts after it had been disposed of.  My partner isn’t as sensitive to the smell, but latex is a smell that I just cannot stand, so the smell really put a damper on things for me.

Overall, these condoms weren’t all that special and definitely did not live up to expectations for both me and my partner.  So far I have not been a fan of Trojan condoms in general because of their strong latex smell, so I would not recommend this product to any of my friends.  However, if you’re looking to try a new product, perhaps you will get more sensation from the warming and tingling lube on these condoms.  If you would like to buy them, you can get them from Eden Fantasys in a pack of 3 or 10.
