Hot love package

The Hot Love pads come in a small pillow like paper container.  I think the box is very cute as it has X’s and O’s all over it.  The packing is a bit small and comes apart easily, but it can be taped at the bottom and used to store the massage pads.  The back also has detailed instructions on how to use the Hot Love pads, which I will go over in a bit.

The pads themselves look just like it shows on the cover of the box.  They are about 3 3/4″ in diameter and fit nicely in the palm of my hand.  One pad says “Hugs” while the other says “Kisses” so these are very discreet.  They could also easily be kept in a drawer.  They are pink (boo) but that’s not really a problem.  They are made out of vinyl so you can use silicone and water-based massage products with them but I would recommend not using an oil-based product with them as they could slowly start to break down.  They do feel very durable.  You can also wash them with soap and water, but they cannot be sterilized, though I don’t think you should be using them on your gentiles and you definitely should not try to insert them.

So what do they do?  The Hot Love pads are basically chemical heating pads.  I’m sure many people have seen the hand and pocket warmers you can buy at the store that you pop and shake and they warm up.  These are similar to that.  They contain a liquid solution which is typically colored salt water.  There is also a small metal (typically zinc); you can sort of see the shadow of the disk in the Kisses pad.  If your product were to rupture do not panic as it does say on the box that the contents are non-toxic.

Basically, you take the pad and pinch the metal disc between the layers of vinyl and bend it.  As soon as it bends you’ll notice the liquid becoming more opaque and you can feel it start to warm up.  When you bend the disc, you release the metal ions into the solution which causes an exothermic reaction (it heats up).  The opaque-ness is from crystals forming.  While it is still hot/warm, the pads will be pliable but they do become very hard after they cool down.  The pads do heat up to 129°F (54°C) and they stay hot for up to 30-45 minutes.  They can get very warm and potentially burn bare skin if you are not careful though.   Don’t worry, these are fully reusable!  On the back it explains how you boil the packs to melt the crystals so you can reuse them.  You should not put the packs in the microwave (remember they have metal in them!) and don’t boil them if they have become punctured.

Overall, the Hot Love packs are very cool and have multiple uses!  You can use them for a sensual massage in the winter or stick them (unactivated) in the fridge or freezer to cool them down for a relaxing cool massage in the summer.  You can also use these for hand warmers in your pockets on cold days so go on over to to get them!
