Review: ID Juicy Lube Blister Pack

Flavored lube isn’t something I use that often, but they can be fun and tasty.  One brand I’ve had my eye on for a while is ID Juicy lube, but they have so many flavors I could never pick one that I thought I’d really like.  I happened to stumble across the ID Juicy Lube Blister Pack on FunWares and they were kind enough to send it to me to review and help my decision in the flavor I’d like most.

The Package

The package for the ID Sample pack is neither good or bad.  All the flavors are displayed so you can see what flavors you get (which I believe are all the flavors ID Juicy Lube comes in).  I thought it was just a clamshell but it was actually sealed so it probably won’t stay closed to store all the little tubes in.  Other than that there isn’t really much to say about the package overall.  Each flavor is in a small 0.42 oz tube with a screw cap and each has a foil seal over the end of the tube for sanitary reasons.  The only major problem is finding somewhere to stick 10 little tubes.  I dump them in my bedside drawer, but they tend to go everywhere.

The lube itself is a medium thick, completely clear, and is very slick, especially for a flavored lube.  It is water-based and it also contains glycerin as the second ingredient.  Most flavored lubes do, so if your lady bits are sensitive to glycerin I would be careful to only use this externally or just on your partner.  It surprisingly doesn’t drive too quickly, but I did notice when you use it for oral it can leave you a bit sticky, even after a good licking, so you may what to wash it off.  A few other things to note, it does contain a form of parabens as well as aspartame.  I could not taste any aspartame aftertaste in it, so I didn’t mind, but if you’re sensitive to paraben I would stay away.  It is latex safe though.

Close up of a tube

Now, for the flavor.  As I said earlier, I’d been interested in trying the ID Juicy Lube for a long time but couldn’t pick a flavor, there were just too many.  What better way to solve that with samples of all their flavors.  So I’m going to do a quick rundown of each of the flavors you get in the pack.

  • Bubblegum Blast:  Yes, bubblegum, not a typical lube flavor.  As soon as you get a dab out of the tube you can smell it and it does smell like double bubble bubblegum.  The taste is not as awesome as the smell, but it does still taste like it should, though it has a very slight bitter aftertaste.  Just remember that your partner isn’t bubblegum when you use it and start chewing…
  • Fresh Peach:  I’m not a big pan of peach flavor in general.  This doesn’t really smell much like peach to me, it does if you use your imagination.  The taste to me is like peach flavored Nyquil, if there were such a thing.  I’m not a big fan of this flavor.
  • Pina Colada:  Another flavor I’m not a bit fan of in general.  I love pineapple, but I hate coconut.  This one smells very sweet and sort of like toasted coconut marshmallows.    The taste is much like toasted coconut marshmallows.  It’s not as bad as I expected, but it’s still coconutty.
  • Wild Cherry:  This one definitely has a strong cherry flavor smell to it.  It also reminds me of Nyquil or cherry cough drops.
  • Lemon Drop:  The smell on this one is very faint, especially compared to the others.  The taste I found very bitter and unpleasant so I would not recommend it at all.  Bleh, I still can’t get the taste off my tongue.
  • Luscious Watermelon:  Another flavor I dreaded tasting… melon, ick, but sometimes melon flavored things are awful.  The smell and taste are like watermelon flavored candy.  It also almost had a slight soapy aftertaste to it.
  • Big Banana:  Banana flavor for your banana?  Sorry, I couldn’t help it.  I wasn’t expecting much from the taste but it’s actually not bad.  It has an artificial banana smell and tastes sort of like a banana moon pie.
  • Cool Mint:  Mint is a flavor I can co either way on.  I don’t like peppermint but love spearmint.  The smell is much like a mint tooth paste and the taste is about the same.  It also leave your tongue tingly and weird feeling for a bit.  It’s not my favorite, but you may like it if you want to freshen your breath while you give oral.
  • Strawberry Kiwi:  This one smells like a sickeningly sweet strawberry.  The taste isn’t as sweet as I thought it would be and it does actually taste like strawberry kiwi and not just strawberry.
  • Passion Fruit:  I don’t really know what a real passion fruit tastes like.  The smell is mildly fruity and sweet and the taste is similar.  It’s fairly pleasant.
Overall, I do enjoy the ID Juicy Lube.  I think the Blister Pack is a great way to try a bunch of flavors for fairly cheap to see which you like the most.  Or if you know which you want, FunWares also sells a 3.8 oz pump top bottle for $9.95.  I suggest trying the Bubble Gum if you’re going to pick one flavor.  And remember, FunWares ships very quickly and discreetly!
