Review: Laid D.1

The Laid D.1 is something I’ve had my eye on for a while.  It has a unique smooth looking shape that I really wanted to try.  Babeland was kind enough to send it to me to review.

The Run Down:

  • Cons:  End is a little blunt; Can be a little to flexible sometimes
  • Overall Rating: 4/5
  • Recommended: Yes

The outside of the packge for the Laid D.1 is fairly plane.  It’s neutral colored but it does say in huge print “D.1” and in smaller print below it it says “Silicone Dildo”.  It also has a small blurb about it under that and on the back there is an image of the toy.  Once you pull the sleeve off, the dildo rests in very dense foam.  You can pull the foam out (with the convient strap) to find the instruction manual, a small tube of lube, and a small certification card, which I think is kind of nice.  The packaging itsel is not the most discreet, but it is fairly sturdy.  I probably won’t end up keeping it in the package, but I may keep the ‘drawer’ part of the box just to keep my storage organized.

The dildo itself has a fairly unique shape.  It’s about 8 inches in total length and 1.5 inches at the widest.  However, it is not particularly cylindrical.  When you look at it from the side, it looks like it has a nice bulbous head, which it does, but it’s very asymmetrical.  It’s almost as if someone took the shape and twisted it slightly.  It’s very hard to explain just how the shape looks, so you may want to watch the video below to really see what I mean.  Both ends can be inserted.  The big end has a bit of a blunt end while the smaller end is more pointed and tapered.  The smaller end also has “D1” imprinted fairly large in the handle.  There is a bit of a seam around the length of the toy, but I could not notice it when inserted.  Aside from that, it is made from solid silicone.  It is a very firm silicone, but the toy itself is a bit flexible over the length.  It also has a very soft matte finish.  I would suggest using only a water-based lube and clean up is super easy.  You can boil it, bleach it, use soap and water, toy cleaner, or toy wipes.

As far as using it, the first time I tried it I didn’t like it at all.  Blunt ended dildos don’t tend to work too well for me.  However, I tried it again and I had  bit better luck with it.  I think the difference or me was between sitting up and laying down.  I did not try the smaller end, because it looks a little too pointy or my liking.  However, that is always an option.  I did find that the smaller end, or the handle as I use it, fits very nicely in my hand.  It has a very ergonomic feel to it.  I think it would work really well to use for thrusting into a partner.  The rounded bulb of the larger end also works very well for g-spot stimulation, even for a fairly shallow g-spot.

Overall, I do like the Laid D.1.  I’m glad I gave it another chance, though I really have to be in the right mood and position for the shape to work.  The handle makes me want to try it with a partner using it on me to see how well it works.  In the product description it even talks about it not causing your hand to get tired with a partner.  It is a little expensive, but I think many people will find that it’s a good addition to their collection.  Babeland is one of the few stores I’ve seen that carry the D.1 and  all the other Laid products.
