Review: Love Knot Flogger

I’ve never used a flogger or any type of impact play, but I’ve been curious.  I’m not really turned on by pain, but a little bit during fun can feel good for me, which is why I requested the Love Knot Flogger to review from FunWares.

Showing the length

The Love Know Flogger came in a sealed plastic sleeve.  There was nothing really special about the packaging.  There was a small tag attached to the top which shows a scantly clad woman dragging the flogger over her chest.  It also calls it a “Love Knot Flog-HER” which is kind of silly, I guess because it has a bow on it it’s meet to be used on a woman?  No clue.  Either way you can toss the tag, it doesn’t have any important information on it.

The flogger itself is about 13″ in total length.  It’s listed as a “mini” flogger.  I don’t know what size standard sized floggers are, but this one does seem a bit small.  I think it would probably be comparable to the Lelo Whip.  The tails are between 6.5-7″ in lenght and are between 1/8 and 3/16″ wide.  The overall style of the flogger is cute.  Where the tails meet the handle there is a cute little bow with a metal rivet through it.  There’s also a metal rivet through the top of the handle along with a small loop to hang it up by.  The handle itself is only bout 4.5″ long, so those with very large hands might find this too small.  I would not mind if it was a bit larger and thicker.  The straps are red suede and the hand is wrapped in red and black suede.  When I first pulled it out of the package it was shedding horribly.  It still sheds a bit, but after one use it doesn’t shed much at all.  It shows up most on white and light colored surfaces, but it easily brushes off.  I think with multiple uses it will shed very little.  As far as care for the flogger, I have no idea.  There were no care instructions listed on the tag, which sucks.  I looked it up online and it recommends cleaning with a special suede brush (which may also help with the shedding) and to store it in a cool dry place.  I’d also recommend if you were to draw blood with this flogger (though I’m not sure that’s possible), you shouldn’t share it with non-fluid bonded partners.

The flogger

So how did this thing feel?  Well since I had never been flogged before (only a hand for light spanking a few times) I didn’t know what to expect.  I tried it on my arm and thigh by myself with some pretty good thwacks and only noticed a tiny hint of sting if I caught myself with just the tips of the tails.  That does give a nice electrical jolt through me though.  Otherwise, it’s just kind of a thud. I finally was able to get a friend to try it out on me and he tried it on my cleavage, which was interesting.  I never realized how sensitive between my boobs was before, not that the flogger ever really hurt me, but it was much more sensitive than other areas.  Then he tried it on my butt, which was much like the experience I had with it on my arm and thighs.  It could sting a bit, especially if I flexed, but mostly it just made me jump and giggle (I don’t know why, I’m weird apparently).  It pinked me up a tiny bit, but nothing more than a hand would do.  I don’t think it would be possible to draw blood or leave any serious marks with this flogger.  However, I do feel like it would be a great starter flogger or for those who don’t like a lot of pain.  I do find that I have a fairly high pain tolerance and my friend also isn’t really a Dom or Sadist so he didn’t want to hit me very hard either.  I’m sure with some much harder hits, it could be a little more intense, but I still don’t feel it would the the level many experienced players would want.

Overall, I think the Love Knot Flogger is a nice little flogger, but it may not be for those who want to experience a higher level of pain and sensation.  I really enjoyed the sensations and like I said, I’m not huge on pain, so this was a great level for me.  It’s cute and small and expensive so I think it’s great for beginners or those with a limited budge and space.  It comes in four color schemes, Black & Red, Black & Pink, Black & Purple, and Pink & Black and you can find them all on FunWares.

I had been considering this one, but I have the Lelo whip as well as a bigger one and prefer the bigger one. This would be cute hanging on the wall above the bed though! (I envision decorating an entire wall with whips and various leather one day, lol)
