Review: Making Love Massage Oil

I’ve tried a flavored oil before and I wasn’t thrilled, it just tasted like oil. Blech.  But I decided to give the idea another shot and requested the Making Love Massage Oil from FunWares.

The Run Down:

The bottle is a fairly typical clear fliptop bottle.  The label on the bottle is very cute though.  It has a black and white photo from an old silent movie (I can’t place the actors) with color touch ups on the front.  The rest of the bother is mostly solid colors.  It does say “Making Love” across the front and in slightly smaller print on the back as well as “sensually flavored massage oil” so you may want to keep it out of site.  I would suggest not laying it in a drawer as the cap does seem to leak a small bit.  I keep it setting on my shelf with other massage oils and candles and no one has said anything about it.  I don’t think it’s overly sexual.

The bottle

The oil itself is a very pale yellow and is quite runny, though that is to be expected with an oil.  It is very slick and a tiny bit goes a very long way.  It will rub in eventually, but it does last for a long time and will leave soft and smooth.  The scent/flavor I picked was Kiwi Pineapple.  The other scents seemed pretty common (Strawberries and Champagne and such), but Kiwi Pineapple really stood out to me.  I really wasn’t expecting much but when I got it I opened it up to smell and I was very surprised.  It smells great.  It smells mostly like pineapple to me and a mix of pineapple soda with fresh pineapple.  It’s a fairly strong smell, but in a good way.  Okay, so it smells good, that doesn’t mean it tastes good right?  So I tasted it.  Again I was very surprised.  It doesn’t leave my tongue feeling oily and actually tastes like pineapple.  It tastes pretty much exactly how it smells to me.  The taste isn’t overpowering and doesn’t really linger in your mouth.  I really love the taste and smell.

In use, it feels great when it’s rubbed over your skin.  I got a massage with it and it felt great smoothing over my skin and added just the right amount of glide.  The smell was also amazing for a massage.  Usually massage oils are hard to smell when you have your face down on a pillow.  I later gave a small massage with it and thought it worked great.  Even on a rather hairy man-beast, it gave me plenty of extra glide.  I didn’t find that it left me feeling overly oily or caused me to break out.  The ingredients are also mostly natural oils that will leave your skin soft and conditioned.

Overall, I love the making Love Massage Oil.  It’s one of my favorite massage products to date.  The smell and taste are awesome and the oil itself is great for a massage.  This is something that when I run out, I will actually spend my own money on to buy it (and maybe even before I run out to try some of the other flavors!).  It comes in Kiwi Pineapple, Strawberries and Champagne, Cherry, Cinnamon Apple, Peaches and Cream, and Vanilla.  It’s definitely a product you should check out.
