The package

The Keyless Cuffs come in a standard California Exotic Novelties cardboard package.  The front and one side have the same background image of who I assume is Nick Hawk and also has the silver Nick Hawk Gigolo logo.  The other side has their copyright information as well as a little message saying that the product is not sponsored by Showtime, which kinda amused me.  The back has a few notes about the product in five languages.

The cuffs as they are

The cuffs themselves are kind of nifty.  The cuffs are about 16.5″ in total length and consider of two loops of a polyurethane leather like material that is made to look like braided cord.  The material does have a slight rubbery scent, but I only noticed it when I put it right to my nose.  It is a flexible material, but it still has little give to it.  That is one thing you may want to be aware of if you get the cuffs tight and are pulling on them.  It is not as hard as metal, but it could still bruise you if you are rough enough with it. Both ends go into a metal end cap and the end caps are connected by about 3″ of chain. The chain is a neat weave of rings that I think gives it a nice touch.  It doesn’t look too sturdy, but I pulled on either end and it did not seem to give at all, however, I would not try to put too much stress on them.  The loops themselves are about 5.5″ in length and each loop has a small band  with a snap that wraps around both pieces.  This snap allows you to slide the band up and snap it in place to make the cuffs tighter.

The cuffs on my wrist

In use, the cuffs are difficult to put on yourself, but generally that will not be the case.  Attaching the snap is much easier with two hands.  However, they are very easy to use.  You put a wrist through the loop, unsnap the band, slide it up to the tightness you want, and snap it back.  It gives a good bit of flexibility in the size of wrists you are using this with.  I have medium sized wrists, and I believe these could be used with someone who has much larger wrists than mine.  The only issue I came across was using it on ankles.  I have rather large feet and I could not get the loop up and around my ankle.  If you have a smaller partner you’re using them on, you could probably use them as ankle cuffs as well.  The biggest issue, if you want to actually restrain someone, is that they are easy to get out of.  I can put them on and take them off by myself.  There is enough slack that you can easily reach the snap and unhook it and slip out, but that could be fixed by hooking the chain around something that would take away that slack.  That being said, if you are just getting started into bondage and are not sure how comfortable you are (or just want to be a brat and keep slipping out) these would be a good place to start.  They allow you to be bound only if you want to be and are very easy to unhook and slip off for either partner if things get too intense.

Overall, I do like the Nick Hawk Keyless Cuffs.  They are not serious cuffs and if you truly desire to be bound with no escape, these probably are not for you, but I’m sure you can find a way to make them work for you.  I do think they look nice and are fairly inexpensive, so if you are looking for something to start your experimentation with bondage, I think these would be a great option, and then you don’t have to worry about losing the key!
