The Massage Oil

I was excited to receive a product from a new company.   I’m sure many of you saw the odd looking Ono Cleo when it came out, but you may not know that Ono also has a line of massage products.  The Ono Massage Oil is made with natural oils that are not-greasy, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic.  The tube says that it is formulated to nourish and moisturize your skin while relaxing your muscles.

It is made with natural oils that will moisturize your skin, but I want to point out that it is not latex safe.  It is not intended to be used as a lubricant and if you are going to use latex condoms or other barriers after using this for a massage I would recommend washing your hands first.

The oil comes in three different scents:  vanilla, lemongrass, and mandarin.  I received the French Vanilla & Jojoba scent.  I usually like vanilla scents, but this oil is very strong and almost sickeningly sweet smelling to me.  I think I would prefer it in the lemongrass.

The major complaint I have about this oil is its consistency.  It is extremely runny.  Being that it is an oil, I did expect that, but the flip top tube makes it difficult to apply without getting it everywhere.  Other than that though it does feel great when used for a massage.  The bottle says it’s supposed to warm and while I did notice a very very slight warming on my wrist, I didn’t notice any when it was used on my back.  It also doesn’t seems to absorb into the skin very quickly so it doesn’t last as long as other oils I have tired.  I did feel very soft and smooth afterward.

Overall, the Ono Massage Oil is just okay.   I don’t hate this oil, but I have used better.   The smell is very strong, so if you don’t like a strong smelling oil I would go with something else.  It can also be difficult to apply.  I think a pump top bottle would work much better. If you’re interested in checking out this oil or other Ono products head on over to Fascinations.
