Review: Ophoria A-Vibe

Today I have another review from FunWares, the Ophoria A-Vibe.  What’s this an anal toy?  Oh but I have other ideas for this.  Well the shape made me think it would work well for g-spot and/or dual stimulation.

The Run Down:

  • Toy Type:  In-ie and out-ie
  • Manufacturer:  Ophoria
  • Includes:  A-vibe and bullet
  • Materials:  Silicone and ABS Plastic
  • Size:  6.5″ long; 3″ insert-able; 1″ in diameter (head); 1.25″ in diameter (body)
  • Price:  $21.95
  • Pros:  Decent packaging; Nice shape; Doesn’t attract lint; Easy to clean
  • Cons:  Too flexible; Makes me a little nervous for anal play; Small seam; Not a very strong bullet; Bullet can easily get stuck
  • Intensity: 2/5
  • Volume: 2/5
  • Overall Rating: 3/5

The package

The packaging is very simple.  It’s a plain white box with a few bubbles.  It does say “ANAL VIBE” in small letters on pretty much every side of the box.  The back also has a small blurb about it and an image of it.  The toy is packed inside dense foam and it does give you a nice place to store the toy.  You could even take the foam out and use the box to store the toy and some lube samples, etc.  What I liked most is that the box was not overly big for the product.  There was no storage bag included.  There is a user manual included and has several languages.  It goes over the details of how to  clean and store the toy as well as replace batteries in the bullet.

The toy itself is 6.5″ long with around 3″ being insert-able.  It can be inserted deeper for vaginal insertion, but I would not push it for anal play as the small circle handle doesn’t provide much of a base.   It has a bulbous head that is around 1″ in diameter at the widest.  The body/shaft is around 1.25″.   The bulb does give some nice g-spot stimulation and would probably work well for the prostate too.  The only concern I have for the anal play is there isn’t much of a base and the handle is not very big and I worry a bit about it getting lost so I suggest holding on to the handle just to be safe.  The size should be manageable by beginners

The A Vibe

Aside from that, the A-Vibe is made from 100% silicone.  It has a soft feel to it and is very flexible and doesn’t seem to attract much lint.  There is a seam that runs along the length of the toy, but I could not feel it during insertion. The flexibility did cause a bit of a problem, as I could not get as much pressure as I would have liked.  However, it does allow you to use it a bit as a dual stimulation.  It is fairly easy to clean, there are no major grooves or anything.  You can wash it with soap and water, toy cleaner, or bleach it.  You can also boil it, but be sure remove the bullet before boiling it.  Also, you will probably only want to use a water-based lube with it.  I would definitely bleach or boil it if you want to use it anally and then vaginally.

The bullet peeking out of the toy

The bullet that comes with the A-Vibe is removable and instructions suggest putting a bit of water-based lube to make inserting and removing the bullet easier.  I did not and I have yet to be able to get the bullet back out.  The bullet also fits very well and very snug into the hole in the handle.  The bullet has only one speed and is a slightly-buzzy low-medium.  The silicone does transmit the vibration easily.  Internally it doesn’t do much for me, but I’m sure others will enjoy it.

Overall, I think the Ophoria A-Vibe is a decent little toy.  I did enjoy the shape, but wish it were a bit firmer and not so flexible.  The bullet is not very strong, but I think when you combined it with other things, it will be enjoyable.  It comes in black, blue, and purple and if you decide to order FunWares always has fast and discreet shipping!
