Review: Pirates Pendant Vibe

I have unfortunately not seen the Pirates porn movie, but I’ve heard about it and I’ve really wanted to get my hands on it to watch it.  No I didn’t get it, but I did get the Pirate’s Pendant Vibe from Babeland.  There are many products out now based on the Pirates movie and the sequel, which is kind of cool.

The Run Down:

  • Toy Type: Out-ie
  • Materials: ABS Plastic
  • Size: 2 1/4″ x 1″
  • Price: $19.00
  • Pros: Decently strong;  Five settings including patterns;  Shape allows pinpoint or broad vibrations; Very quiet
  • Cons: Disappointing packaging; Plastic and looks kind of cheap;  Doesn’t go with anything to wear it; Chain is too long; Dies after 15-20 minutes, but will be fine later
  • Intensity: 3.5/5
  • Volume: 2/5
  • Overall Rating: 3.5/5
  • Recommended: Yes

How I received my vibe

Online it shows that the pendant vibe comes in silver and gold and comes in a nice package.  However, the one I received was a reviewer sample, so it came in a small zippy bag.  If you do order this product you will receive the packaging like shown above.  I did get a silver one though, which I prefer (gold is just so ugly for me, I don’t know why).  In addition, there was a pamphlet showing all the products based off the Pirates DVD.  It showed that you can also get this bullet in copper/brass, black, white, and pink, though I think the metallic colors look best since it’s a pirate themed product.

This actually isn’t the first vibrating necklace I’ve owned.  The other however was just a bullet on a chain, so if people have seen a bullet before, it would be pretty obvious what it is.  The concept behind this toy is that it can be worn as a necklace without people knowing what it is really.  Then if you need to have a little fun while you’re own, you can slip into the bathroom and have a go with it.I do believe the product could be used like that, but as far as wearing it, it’s not as attractive as I thought it would be.

Pendant Vibe Close Up

The pedant is on a simple ball-link chain and is about 2 1/4″ in lenght and less than 1″ wide.  As you can see in the close up below, the skull design doesn’t stand out very much.  Without looking at it closely it would be hard to tell what was on it.  The pendant is also made out of ABS plastic with a metallic finish, which just looks a little cheap.  I do feel that it would look much better if it were at least an actual metal coating.  It would make it a more expensive product, but I think it would be worth the increased cost.  As it is now it looks a little awkward and I’m not girly and fashionably, but I can’t think of what I’d wear this with, besides a Halloween costume.  However, Halloween isn’t very far away so could be a good buy!

Pendant Vibe Length

The another problem I had with it  was the length of the chain, which measures to 26″.  I have a large neck and this was very long, as you can see it came down to way between my breasts.  If I tucked it into my shirt it was between my boobs and just felt awkward and uncomfortable.  Though this time of chain is really easy to cut to make shorter.

So aside from aesthetics, the vibe itself isn’t half bad.  It’s a little strong for me to start off with, but I’ve still managed to finish with it.  It has five settings as well. The first two are solid vibration, a low and a high, while the last 3 are patterns. One is a throbbing pulsation, another a quick pulsation, while the last is basically “quick quick LOOONG”.  It is a fairly strong toy, not the strongest I have felt, but I think it is strong enough to work well for most people.  In addition, the end comes to a pointed tip which can give some very strong pinpoint vibrations.  It is also very quiet.  I think it would be quiet enough to use in a bathroom stall if you wanted, because it would be muffled by your body.  The only thing that makes noise is the ring that attaches it to the necklace can rattle sometimes if it’s not held down.  That can be solved by taking it off the ring.

Inside the Pendant Vibe

The vibe is also splash proof and does have the rubber o-ring.  However, it doesn’t close quiet tight, so I would recommend wiping the inside edge after use. Cleaning is pretty easy, simply wash with soap and water or toy cleaner.  Aside from that it takes 3 watch batteries which came with it.  The only problem I found is when I used it for a long time it would just turn off and not stay on for more than a few seconds.  I thought it was the batteries at first, which sucked cause I’d only used it for 15 minutes or so.  However, when I tried it the next day it was back to full power, though again in about 15-20 minutes it stopped again. So I’m not sure what’s going on with that, it’s kinda weird.

Overall, I think the Pirate’s Pendant Vibe fails in being a pretty vibe that you could wear out.  I do think it would work well with a pirate costume or something.  Aside from that, it’s a pretty inexpensive bullet.  It’s splash-proof and easy to clean and also has several vibrational patterns.  If you’re looking for a cheap bullet with patterns, this would be a very good bet.

The silver does look nice, although I think I’d prefer the black. I’m glad that it it packs some strength! Looks really are deceiving in this case.
And ugh about its durability. I recently bought a bullet that is now doing the same thing–after only two uses! Very aggravating.
Thanks for the review! I’ve been looking at the pirate line; the theme really caught my eye.
