Review: Reflections Peace

You guys know how much I love purple right?   So I was in love with the Reflections Peace when I discovered it on Fascinations website and they were kind enough to send it to me to review.

  • Pros: Cute box that can be used for storage; Beautiful color; Compatible with any lube;  Easy to clean; Broad deep vibration;

The Peace came in pretty standard Doc Johnson packaging, a clear plastic box. I thought the box was very cute; it is decorated with hippy-ish swirls and hearts.  The colors are very pretty and it’s overall somewhat discreet.  The toy sits in a little plastic insert and I feel the box is small enough to store the toy in.  I will probably put it in the padded bag with my other glass dildo though.

The thing I love most about the Peace, well beside the color, is that it is glass which means it is Phthalate free, completely hygienic and very easy to clean.  It’s also compatible with any lube, my choice was a super slippery silicone lube that made the glass slide very nicely against my lady parts or anywhere else.  The glass makes it a good sex toy to use for temperature play.  I love the feeling of the cool glass to start with and then feel how warm it has gotten after play.  To clean the toy, simply wash it with soap and water or toy cleaner.

Peace in my hand

The Reflections Peace is part of a whole line of glass vibrators from Doc Johnson which include: Love (gold), Hope (pink), Bliss (green), Nirvana (black), and Joy (blue). Each one has an unique shape and features.  The Peace is a beautiful purple and has a flared head and eight slightly twisted ridges down the length of the toy.  Overall, it is about 6″ in length with about 5″ being insert-able.  This is a very wide toy at almost 1.5″ in diameter, which may make it difficult for some women to insert.  The flared head does aid in insertion.  I didn’t see that the ridges added much stimulation internally, though I’d imagine it would have an interesting feeling if you twisted it while it’s inserted hmm… I’ll have to try that now.

Showing the girth of the toy

As far as the vibrations, this isn’t an overly powerful toy and many women may be disappointed by it.  However, glass conducts vibration very well and takes the ‘buzz’ off the vibration, giving a broad low vibration that I really enjoyed.  I also enjoyed the vibration on other body parts, such as my temples.  It’s not so strong and buzzy that it made my face feel numb either.  I think it would also feel great used to massage someone’s back and shoulders.  Especially with some nice warming massage oil, the glass will slip and slide over your skin and really relax your tired muscles.

Battery and endcap

The Peace takes only one AA battery which is very easy to insert, just unscrew the end cap and pop it in.  I did have a small problem screwing the end cap back on though.  The spring in the cap is very stiff and you have to push hard and line it up just right to get it back on, so it does take a little practice.  The toy operates using a small pushbutton on the end cap.  It has three speeds, so each push brings it to a higher speed until it turns off. The button is firm and very easy to push and makes a satisfying click when it’s released.  I don’t know why it is, but the click pleases me for some reason, I’m weird.  The only thing I didn’t like was once the toy is on, when you click the button to turn it up, while the button is depressed the vibration stops, but it starts again when the button is released. You could take advantage of this though and use it to make your own pulsing pattern or use it as a ‘quick off’ to stop the vibration quickly, but you do have to hold it down to keep it stopped.

Overall, I really enjoy my Reflection Peace and I would like to try some of the other shapes from the Reflections Line.  They are all beautiful and unique glass toys, so if you are a fan of glass, I think this is a must have.  The vibrations are not strong, but they are broad and not buzzy.  So if you’re interested in checking out the Peace or any of the others in Doc Johnson’s Reflections line head on over to Fascinations and use the code on the banner below to save 10% on your order!
