The package

The Rippler comes in a similar package to that of the First Mate.  It’s a large clamshell wich you can clearly see the toy.  It’s not the most discreet, but it’s not horrible either.  It’s a little large for my space constrain though, so I tossed it.  The background to the package has a nice color scheme and it doesn’t have any nudity or anything.  The back has the icons from Good Vibration’s site telling you it’s silicone, phthalate free, etc and has a small blurb about the toy.  It says that it has an elegant stylized shape, it’s harness-compatible, curved for g-spot or prostate pleasure, and designed by experienced sex educators.  What more could you want?

The dildo

The Rippler itself is a rather large toy.  It measures nearly 8″ in length and ranges from 1.5″ in diameter to nearly 2″ at the base.  There is a slight curve to it and there are prominent ripples along the shaft.  It is made from solid silicone and mine is a pretty shimmery metallic purple.  I’d call it more of a wine color than purple, but you get the idea.  It is fairly hefty, given the size and density of the silicone.  I find it to be more supple than the First Mate and has more give to it.  This is probably my preferred amount of give and flexibility in a silicone dildo.  Because it is silicone, you should only use a water-based lube with it, but then it’s super easy to clean.  You can use toy cleaner or wipes, soap and water, bleach, boiling, or even toss it in the dish washer.

Now, I’m a pretty big fan of ridges and ripples, which what attracted me to this toy.  I have to say it delivered exactly what I wanted and I love the texture.  I even like the size.  *gasp* I like a thick dildo?  The thickness is very graduate, which makes it easier for me to work with and the texture helps a lot.  The curve is also nice.  While it doesn’t quiet hit my g-spot the way I’d like, it still feels pretty nice and the extra ridges help to make my vagina quiet happy anyways.  There is a base so you can use it with a strapon, which I would like to try sometime.

Overall, I really like the Ripple Dildo.  It’s a high quality toy with a great texture.  It may scare some beginners with its size, but I think size-queens and nons will enjoy it.
