Review: Sliquid Sizzle

I’ve never been a huge fan of warming lubes.  They usually don’t work or work too well, and I don’t like the feeling of my vagina being on fire.  But I’ve tried other Sliquid products, so I was curious about Sliquid Sizzle and Eden Fantasys sent it to me to test out.

sliquid sizzle warming lube

The bottle

The Sliquid Sizzle comes in a small bottle just like the other types of Sliquid I have tired.  The color of the label is the only difference.  It’s a bright orange with white letters.  I suppose orange does make me think about things that are warm, so it seems appropriate.  Aside from that, it doesn’t really stand out.  The front says “Sliquid Natural Stimulating Lubricant sizzle” and lists that it’s glycerin and paraben free.  The back has the ingredients and a bit about the company as well as some details about the product.  I like that it says it cools on contact and warms with friction, because otherwise I would have not thought it was working properly.  It also says “Formulated to last longer than most Hollywood marriages!” which amused me.  One thing  that I am not found of, is the bottle is a little difficult to squeeze.  It has a flip cap that can be opened easily with one hand, but squeezing it takes a lot of pressure.  I’m much more found of a pump top.

The lube itself is a medium thickness.  It is thick enough that it doesn’t run unless you have a lot of it.  It is completely clear, though a lot of friction can make it a bit white.  It is very slick and lasts a long time unless it is exposed to direct contact with air.  It dries out much quicker then and gets slightly tacky.  You can easily reactivated it with water, spit, or more lube.  When used vaginally, I don’t feel the need to wash it off after I play, which is a big plus for me.  I hate lubes that leave me feeling greasy or sticky.  It also says that it’s blended to enhance your body’s own natural lubrication.  I find that I really need to use very little of it.  I did notice that it has a very slight smell if you put it right to your nose.  To me it smells like the Biofreeze that I use on sore muscles, but not as strong.  I wasn’t brave enough to taste it.

As far as the warming effect goes, it’s better than some.  When I first apply it, it does feel cool and tingly. Its only stimulating ingredient is menthol which is found in most cooling lubricants.  I did find that it warmed when I used it internally with friction.  The first time I used it it was a very intense warming sensation but it has not been as intense again, which is disappointing.  Perhaps the more you use, the more intense it will be, I have not experimented with that.  One thing I have found is that it can leave me a little itchy after I have played.  I use other products with menthol in them quite frequently so I do not think that is the issue.  It has no parabens or glycerin in it, so that cannot be the cause either.  The only other ingredients are water, plant cellulose, guar conditioner, potassium sorbate, and citric acid.  It could be the guar conditioner or the plant cellulose, but I am not sure.  It could have been something else all together as well.

Overall, I think that Sliquid Sizzle is a decent lube.  It’s warming affects still don’t impress me a whole lot, it tends to be more cooling for me than warming.  Since it’s Sliquid, the lube is paraben and glycerin free, so if you are looking for a warming lube that meets both of those requirements, this would be a good choice.
