tantric mantra packaging

The packaging

After reviewing so many of their toys, there isn’t much to say about the packaging with most Cal Exotic toys.  The Mantra comes in a plastic box that has all the normal logos and such you would expect.  It has a clear front that allows you to see the toy and has the pure silicone and waterproof labels on the front.  one side is blank while the other has an image of the toy and also has a few single words like balance and energy, I guess that’s suppose to be the “mantra” of the toy.  The back has the standard list of feature sof the toy in five different languages.

The Mantra itself is an average sized rabbit.  It’s about 9.5″ in total length and about 4.5″ are insert-able.  It has a medium diameter at about 1.25″.  The rabbit arm is about 2.75″ in length and the flexible ear tips are just under 1″ in length.  The shaft has a few light grooves and the head has a few raised areas.  I personally couldn’t really feel either texture once inserted.  The clit arm is fairly flexible and shaped like a bunny with two long ears.  Unlike some rabbits, these ears are actually quite flexible, which I liked.  The material is soft and slightly plushy, typical of the silicone that Cal Exotics has been using.  It does have a bit of drag, so I recommend using some water-based lube with it.  However, it doesn’t seem to collect lint like some silicone does.  One thing I did notice is that it does have a bit of a smell if you get it close to your face.  However, I took my lighter to it and it appears to have wiped clean.  As far as cleaning, you can use soap and water, toy cleaner, or bleach it.  There is  a small seam between the silicone and the plastic of the bottom, as well as the light grooves, that you may need to pay a bit more attention to.  The package says that it is waterproof, but I would try to refrain from submerging it, due to the seam.

The mantra

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know my general thoughts toward rabbits are not all that positive.  They just don’t really work for me.  This one had some potential to it, but didn’t quite cut it.  The first thing that disappointed me about it is that it has very few settings.  There are four buttons on the control panel.  The two bottom buttons control the vibration and the two top ones control the rotation.  Of the two bottom buttons, the lowest one turns the toy on and the top cycles through the speeds.  However, cycle is the wrong word because there are only two speeds of vibration.  Both speeds are quite buzzy and neither is particular strong, even though it has four AAA batteries (not that it’s much, but that is a lot of batteries).  I don’t care much for buzzy vibrations and the vibrations did very little for me.  With a deeper vibration, I think I would have really enjoyed the shape of the bunny.  The vibrations are also decently quiet, but that probably is mostly because they are not very strong.

The one thing I do like about rabbits, so I was hoping that that could maybe save the toy, but it was similarly disappointing.  The left button on the top turns the rotation on and off while the right switches the direction of rotation.  The package says two speeds of rotation, plus reverse.  However, there is only one speed of rotation in either direction.  The rotation is also quite loud and because the pearls on the inside are not on tracks, they also make some noise and grinding.  The noise of the rotation was loud enough that it took me awhile to even try it the first time because I wanted to make sure no one was home.  I also found the noise quite distracting when I used it.  A pillow muffed it some, but not much.  The one redeeming thing is it isn’t easy to stop the rotation motor.

Overall, I found it hard to enjoy the Tantric Mantra.  It could be so much better if it were quieter and had a stronger and deeper vibration.  I also think for the price, the functionality of the toy is extremely limited.  If you’re looking for a good rabbit, I think there are much better ones at this price point.
