Back of the packaging

The Vibro Pod comes in pretty standard California Exotic Novelties packaging.  The box does have a pretty woman dressed liked a secretary, but it’s not obscene.  It does make it very clear what is in the box though.  The main features are listed on the front of the box, and on the back it shows all the components you get when you purchase it.  It also has the instructions which are very easy to use.  You do get a lot of stuff with this product and a storage bag is included, which is nice.  The Vibro Pod comes with the controller, two interchangeable bullets, a headphone splitter, and a cord to connect it to your MP3 player (or anything with a headphone jack).  The storage bag is plenty bit enough to fit all of your cords and pieces for this toy.

vibro pod music connector and headphone splitter

Headphone splitter and music connector

The basic idea of this toy is to be able to connect to a headphone jack and it will vibrate to the beat.  To do this, you plug the splitter into the headphone jack of your device and plug your headphones (not included) into one of the connectors on the splitter.  Plug the music connection cable into the other port and then into the control unit.  There are two ports in the control unit, one for music and one for the bullet, but they are labeled with pictures.  You don’t have to worry about the cable being too short because it’s 8 feet long.  Yes 8 feet.  You could even plug this into your stereo if you wanted to.

I was a bit disappointed though.  When I first received this toy I opened it and played with it and tested out the music feature and it was very neat.  It then got put to the side in it’s storage bag and sat for a while.  When I got it back out to review, I could not get the music function to work again.  I fiddled and fiddled and it seemed like it just would not make the connection.  I’m really not sure what happened and I’m sure it is just an issue with mine.  I plan on taking it apart sometime to mess with it and see if I can fix it (I am an Engineer after all).

Control Unit and Storage Bag

If you don’t have someway to use this with music, don’t fear, it won’t be useless.  If you don’t connect the music cable, you can simply turn it on with the On/Off button on the controller and cycle through 8 different functions.  There are two steady vibration functions and the rest are patterns.  Many of the patterns on this toy I had not seen anywhere else and I really enjoyed them.  The control unit also has a clip on it so you could even clip it to your belt or something if you wanted to use it while you go out for a walk or run.  It takes two AAA batteries which are inserted in the back by removing a panel.    The control unit is extremely light because it is made out of a very light-weight plastic.  The controller is NOT water-proof or even splash proof, so be careful to only wipe it with a cloth if you get lube on it.

vibro pod bullets

The Bullets

Like I said this does come with two interchangeable bullets, a small and a large.  The cords on the bullets are also 8 feet long, so again you have more than enough cord.  This was kind of a downside just because there was so much cord to deal with.  The larger bullet has a slightly softer and deeper vibration while the smaller one is a bit stronger and more buzzy.  The bullets have a “rubber-cote” on them so they are very soft to the touch and super slick with lube.  I did enjoy both bullets and my only complaint is that you cannot hook both up at the same time.

Overall, the Vibro Pod is a neat toy.  I did down rate it a lot because I did have some issues with the music function but it DID work when I received it.  It is very easy to use and you have plenty (and probably more than enough) cord.  There is a nice storage bag and you do get two interchangeable bullets which is very nice.  Even if you cannot use the music function, though I think most people these days have access to something with a headphone jack that will play music, it has 8 great functions that can be used without music.  It’s also not nearly as expensive as the other well known music vibrators.  Head over to to check it out.
