The package

You guys know I’ve said several times that packaging from CEN typically isn’t the best.  I was surprised at the package the Voila came in.  While it’s not the most discreet, it has a full size picture of the toy on the box.  That’s nice to really give you a feel for the size of the toy.  It lists the features and all the normal talk on a package.  Where it surprised me is it is a surprisingly sturdy cardboard box.  It has a pull off lid and another layer than the toy itself is sandwiched in and under that you find the charger and an instruction booklet.  It’s really a nice little box you can use to keep the toy and charger in together if you choose to.  The instruction booklet it comes with though is just sad.  It has a few basic instructions, but it wasn’t nearly what I expected.

Showing the nub and sticky spot

The Voila is a fairly small toy.  It’s about 3″ long and 1.5″ wide with a tip that tapers to a point.  It’s also only around 3/4″ thick.  It’s small enough to tuck into a purse, over night bag, pocket, or pretty much anything.  It is a hard plastic, so there is no give to it, but it does have the “Velvet Cote” finish so it has a very soft touch.  It’s compatible with water and silicone lubes and it’s water proof, so it’s a breeze to clean.  You should make sure the plug that covers the charging port is inserted firmly before submerging it though.  There are no real gaps or seems on the toy so a quick wash will be all you really need.  I find that it’s very easy to hold and it does have a nub/bump on the end of the tip.  The bump does give a slightly more concentrated vibration than the top or sides do.  The shape makes it a good clitoral vibrator and it’s possibly small enough for it be inserted into your panties while you’re out at a club (it’s not quiet enough for a restaurant).  It can also be used to stimulate other parts of the body as well or even used as a small hand held massager for your neck and shoulders.  If you were very daring you could leave it setting out and tell people it’s just a neck massager, but it’s small enough that I would just tuck it in a drawer.  One thing I want to point out that I didn’t like is there was a sticker on the underside of the toy.  I peeled it off and it left a sticky place, but you can easily take care of that with some goo-gone stuff.

As far as the vibrations themselves, they are rather buzzy, but I still found it to be enjoyable.  It has four speeds of steady vibrations and three pulsing and escalating patterns.  The vibration level is a medium-high and I think if you enjoy buzzy vibrations, this may be strong enough for you.  The noise level of this toy is a little higher than I would prefer.  Because it is buzzy, it has that high-pitch hum and it can easily be heard through a door on high if it’s not muffled.  I didn’t find that quite lived up to the box saying “intense power” and “quiet”.

The toy and charger

I was a little confused at first as to how to turn it on because it does have a dedicated off switch, but that button does not turn it on.  To turn it on you push the function button and then if you continue to push it, it will cycle through the functions.  When you want to turn it off push the off button.  Like I said earlier, there really weren’t any instructions with it, other than a small blurb about how to charge it, so that was a little frustrating.  To charge the toy, you pull out the small plug in the end, insert your charger, and plug it in.  The few instructions there were said it could take up to 3 hours.  There are no lights in the buttons or anything, so you cannot tell when the toy is done charging or when the battery is starting to run low.  That can be annoying because the toy could die in the middle of a session.

Overall, I think the Voila is a fairly nice toy.  It has decent vibrations and it’s fairly inexpensive for being rechargeable.  It’s also a small and discreet toy and easy to travel with.  Though I would thick twice about using it in a public place that is fairly quiet.  My only major gripe with it is that you cannot tell when it needs to charge or is done charging.  It’s also a bit versatile in that it can be used for a clitoral vibe, stimulation other body parts, or just as a hand held neck and shoulder massager.
