The package

Per usual, there isn’t a lot to say about the packaging.  It’s a fairly large cardboard box that shows the product all over it.  It also points out some of the features, all the stuff of standard package.  One plus is the cardboard is a bit thicker than normal.  However, it’s not a discreet package at all.  There are two small slips included in the package.  One slip shows you how to install the batteries.  It also shows a diagram of the 10 different patterns that it is capable of.  Not many toys that have function give a visual representation of the patterns, which I think is nice.  The other slip shows how to place the dildo in the harness.  I actually found this quite useful as it gave a suggestion that I wouldn’t have thought about.  Since this comes with the dildo and the harness, I’m going to talk bout them separately first.

The Love Rider Ripple dildo can actually be bought outside of the strap on kit, so if you like the sound and look of it, you don’t have to spend the extra money for the kit.  The dildo is solid silicone and about 7.25″ long and around 1.5″ in diameter.  The silicone is fairly firm and unfortunately does tend to collect lint.  It may be a bit challenging to clean as well because there is a motor in the dildo and the cord to plug it into the controller comes out of the bottom.  It is sealed pretty well in the material and you can unplug the cord from the controller to make cleaning easier and safer.  I feel that it would be safe to completely submerge just the dildo portion so you can clean it with soap and water, toy cleaner, or bleach.  Since it is silicone though, I would suggest only using a water-based lube with it.  You may need a bit as it does cause some drag.

The Love Rider Rippler

The head of the dildo is slightly curved and has a few ripples, hence why it is called the rippler.  The curve can provide some g-spot stimulation.  The ripples could also add to that, but I didn’t really notice them during use.  Most of the shaft is fairly flexible, but the head is firmer and more rigid.  I believe this is probably due to the location of the motor.  The vibration feels strongest in the head, so I think the motor is probably there, which causes it to be a bit more rigid.  In general, it is much to long for me, which may be something to keep in mind if you are using this as a strap on, but the width was no problem.  One thing I did find is that the base is slightly concave.  This allows you to treat it like a suction cup,and while it’s not a great one, on very smooth flat surfaces it does provide a decent hold.

As I mentioned, this dildo does vibrate.  The cord comes out of the base of the dildo and plugs into the controller.  This is good because if you jerk it, it won’t damage the cord it will just unplug.  The controller has two buttons.  The square button on the top turns the toy on and off while the trigger on the bottom will turn the toy on and cycles through the 10 functions.  There are three levels of solid vibration with 7 pulsing type patterns.  The controller is pretty easy to use and whatever pattern you turn the toy off in is where it will start when you turn it back on.  The vibrations them selves were surprising.  The controller is powered by two AA batteries, so I didn’t expect a whole lot, but they are on the deeper side of battery operated vibrations.  The vibrations transmit very well too and it is a very interest feeling to have the vibrations on when using it as a dildo.  Generally I don’t like that, but this seems to work for me.  The only thing I was worried about was that since this is a strap-on kit, I didn’t know where the controller would go.

The harness

The harness itself is pretty basic.  It has a front piece, a pack piece, the straps, and the o-ring.  The front and back pieces are made out of a leathery like material.  It doesn’t feel unplesant against the skin, but it can get slick if you sweat easily which could cause it to slide down.  The edges of this material are covered with a more fabric like material.  The straps feel like most backpack straps.  This is a two strap style and has four straps in total.  Two straps connect the front  to the back along the sides and two between the legs.  All four straps are very adjustable.  Each strap connects through the front part to the metal O-ring that holds the dildo.

The fit of the harness is decent, though I would prefer if it could sit on my hips rather than below them.  The back fits against my lower back and onto my butt and the front piece rests right against my public mound.  The dildo is easy to put in and holds well though even if I get it tight, since I cannot get it over my hips it does tend to slide down on me, but it’s not too bad.  As I mentioned earlier, I was concerned about what to do with the controller once you put the dildo in the harness.  That was actually thought about and on the back of the harness is a small elastic loop.  You do have the corn hanging around your side, but it seems to stay out of the way.

Overall, I think the 10 Function Love Rider Rippler:  The Complete Strap-On System is a decent package.  I do like the dildo and the harness is decent, though I own better ones.  I do like that the harness is made to include the strap to hold the controller, which you won’t get with most other harness.  If you don’t want the harness, you can purchase the dildo by itself which runs about $20 cheaper than the kit.
